Brocantess Style Camping

Bonjour Ma Belles!

Camping out prior to the opening of a brocante seems to be the quickest way to ensure an early arrival.

-- but roughing it isn't really The Brocantess' cup of tea.

So what's a girl to do?

Lovelane Caravans' gorgeous campers/caravans seem to be the perfect solution.

Each of their offerings comes complete with china, linens, outdoor chairs.....the whole lot.

To make it even better, Lovelane comes out and sets everything up for you!

We would be tres chic enjoying a post brocante wine and cheese under the canopy don't you think?

Now, I just need to convince them to bring this one to France :)

Where Is That Pesky Cherub?

Bonjour Lovelies,

Even though I would try to take away his bow & arrow, I concede that Valentine's Day will come....along with the fat, little, flying cherub :)

I love hearts, pink, chocolates, flowers....all of it.  That arrow has caused me a few problems though.........

Here's to the upcoming celebration even though it won't be in Paris.

Brocantess Wants Spring!!!

Hello Lovelies!

How was everyone's weekend?

Dying to hear of any good fleamarket finds from those of you lucky enough to have warm weather.....share the wealth with those of us stuck in winter!

The Brocantess is ready for Spring.......flowers, budding trees, blue sky....a girl can dream can't she?

Here's a little something that helps me forget the white stuff on the ground :)

Weekend Eye Candy

Hello Lovelies,

Another week is behind us.....and another snow storm is on its way.

Welcome back to the reality of living in the northeast.

I think a warm, moody elegance is in order for this weekend's eye candy.

Hope you stay warm or dry depending on your area of the country!

Brocantess Best of--San Francisco Shopping

Bonjour Jolies!
I come to you from 30,000 feet on a plane headed east :)

Many of you have asked for shopping recommendations in San Francisco and LA.
So without further adieu----I bring you the Brocantess Best of.....starting with SF.

First and foremost is the Alameda Flea Market

Held the first Sunday of each month, this is an absolute must. If you are planning a trip you owe it yourself to work it in around this market. You will not be disappointed. Just remember it can be chilly by the water so bring a jacket!

HAYES STREET---My favorite location and where I head to first :)

Cotton Sheep---572 Hayes St, btwn Laguna & Octavia

LOVE this Japanese clothing store!!!!!!! The items have the most amazing detail, soft fabrics and beautifully muted colors. I simply can not say enough about the items. Whether you are looking for a long T to wear over leggings (theirs are DEVINE!) or something less casual they are worth the trip. Beautiful socks with tiny bows to peek out of the back of your shoes and delicate jewelry.

She also carries soft, unique kids clothing. Miss Parker is about to receive a floral organic cotton bib and pink strawberry socks from them :)

Paolo Shoes---524 Hayes St
Beautiful Italian shoes. Flats are as gorgeous as the heels and boots. Always different from what you find in the mass merchandising world.

My favorite place to have a drink. Great cocktails! Try the Citron Lemonade. It's a fizzy alcoholic version and is AMAZING!

Caffe delle Stelle---395 Hayes St
Wonderful Italian dishes and fresh fish. I've never had a bad meal here.

Citizen Cake--399 Grove St
On the street behind Absinthe. Amazing desserts and the food is good too :) Seriously, how can you not love the name of the restaurant?

Head for the 500 block of Hayes and just walk toward the 300 block. You will find plenty to keep you interested, even if there is a bit of gap in the 400 block area.

POLK STREET

Smoke Signals Magazines--2223 Polk St, btwn Bonita & Vallejo
Hands down the best magazine store in town if you are looking for foreign titles. They carry a huge selection of European fashion and decorating titles.

Swallowtail Antiques-2217 Polk St., btwn Vallejo & Green
Great place to browse and right by the magazine store. Some of the items are too modern for my taste, but I have found great accessories here.

There is also an adorable shop in the 2300 block of Polk that I can not remember the name of . It is toward the end of the block on the opposite side of the street from the 2 listings above and carries beautiful cards, gifts and decorations. Think glitter, white, pink and cream and you have the idea. It's worth the walk to see if it is still there.

If you are hungry there are several cute restaurants and French bakeries within a block south.

FERRY BUILDING

If you are looking for a one stop place to find a restaurant, this is it. 2 of my favorite restaurants are here.
Slanted Door
My favorite place to eat. Have the Shaken Beef. That's all I have to say.

Taylor's Refreshers
Perfect burgers, fries and shakes. Always a line, but well worth it.

Miette
Beautiful bakery and desserts.

Many other restaurants and shops in the building as well as a local farmer's produce market.

Whatever you do enjoy!

You never know what you will find here!

Mixing Business with Pleasure

Hello Lovelies,

How is the week winding up? I hope it has been a good one.

Mine has been meetings during the day and work dinners after.

Tough job.....but 10pm is still 10pm and it equals a long day.

But, the Brocantess did manage to sneak out for an hour and look what I found!!!!!

Not bad for a quick break.

I love San Francisco!

The Glamorous Life of Travel

Bonjour Mon Amis!

Ahh, the glamorous life! Traveling from town to town, not a care in the world, right?

HA!!!!! Nothing like having a flight delayed and then cancelled .....after you have turned in your rental car :)

Oh well, one more night with Miss Parker!

At least she was excited about it!

Here's a little peek at LA. Perfect weather----no rain and 70 degrees. There was a flea market, Malibu and (best of all) my mom met her great granddaughter for the first time.

Wondering what she saw?

Off to SF and then HOME!!!!!

xoxo,
